UGH! Resume Headaches!

I HATE editing my resume (I use a computer program for it) and mine sucks because I have such HUGE gaps in employment history! I don't know what to do to make it look appealing! AHHHH.... and what also sucks... I am applying to different agencies all in the same field (law enforcement- state & federal level) and each agency requires different stuff

that helps... I have tons of volunteering time too... thing is there are so many "traditional don'ts" that I did that I don't know if I should include. You know what I mean. Since I have to had a secret security clearance anyways, it is not like they won't find everything out anyways...lol... but what do you include and leave off? I am always told to just include what is pertainant to the job I am applying for but if I do just that there are huge gaps...lol

Oh yeah, he was severly special needs for many years... he still is technically but he certainly does not require all the time that he used too...lol! Thanks to years of therapy and medical treatments! Good idea, thanks!
