Really. I don't see how we can have any sort of pride in our House if we don't look all that different from the others save with some color changes to the palette. Really. It's just lazy designing.
I prefer uniforms for class. That way I don't have to think about what outfit to wear, and I won't have to worry about ruining my cute clothes because someone can't figure out how to hold their wand properly.
That is one way to think of it, but I think that it just means that if everyone is wearing something nice then people will be a little more careful with their magic.

I do not think we'll be able to change our uniforms, but perhaps if these are made into additional attires... Like coats and jackets.
[Especially with the sudden increase of snow, these would provide warmer clothings.]
