On the ridiculousness of wishing: another prompt.

A large number of unexpectedly spectacular things have happened to me so far this semester, ranging from gaining a sense of camaraderie with fellow students to vast realizations about myself to chance meetings to weekends where I ship myself to another city and write forty pages of my beloved novel.  The majority of these things I hadn't ever ( Read more... )

O! How I wish I could run and explore those
snaggled bluffs.
But no,
We have fenced them off for
Protection.
Mine or theirs? or their inhabitant's?
If we simply protected
all
I could go past that fence
(which wouldn't exist)
and feel the wind in my hair.

But if that's what I'm wishing, I would
never dream of living here.

okay, so, I wrote this first draft a few weeks ago. I had planned on writing about the stunning scenery along the river, but it turned into a commentary on what I (think I) wish the world could be...but maybe I don't...
