So, my OT professor said something once about how anything could be worship. I've heard this before, but he went into an explicit description of how homework can be worship. God wants us to build our minds, and our self-discipline, and homework is a good way to do that. Homework is worship.
But, additionally, loving God isn't always about being struck with an overwhelming passion and desire for Him. To use the marriage analogy (which JC used often), that kind of commitment isn't always about "wanting" to do something. Sometimes it's just about "doing it" despite the fact that we have no desire to do it. If you wait for that passion, as I'm finding with people, it may never come. Sometimes we just need to do it and let that feeling come later, or with time, or maybe not for a while. But usually, I feel, it comes quicker than I think it will.
