Winds of (no) change

Yesterday was really windy here at home (nothing like the poor folks in Kansas, but that is a whole other story). We live right next to the LA River which is next to the freeway. Well, the area around the river is so dry and dusty so with the wind, it gets really dirty around here. I love the wind, but the dust is getting into everything! I had to ( Read more... )

niiiice pages there.
It was so windy in Chino today, I was terrified to drive. Once in O.C. it was ok though. My allergies are going crazy though- I swear I'm starting to feel old, I never really had allergies before....

Thanks! I bet it was crazy as all hell over there! Juan felt sick today and I think that it may be allergies as well, which he has never suffered from. So yeah. We're all getting old!

The winds were so bad we were hoping fireworks would be cancelled, but noooooo - they went off anyway and the smoke blew right into the backstage areas so we choked on it. Ugh. I feel your pain with your crunchy sheets and our crunchy air!!!!!

And I love your new pages. You have a fantastic eye! You just inspired me to start taking my camera so I can start one for the Villa ;p

Wow, still had fireworks eh? Are those daily? I have a friend at the AoP who used to work for Disneyland but is so happy he doesn't work there anymore. He worked there for a really really long time. He used to dive for them as well as do all sorts of little projects like the time when someone thought it would be a great idea to shoot rose petals out of cannons on Main Street for the Rose Parade Gals that were, uhm, parading down Main St. I am sure you can imagine the slip hazard that caused. Tinkerbell's wings were also one of his projects so when she would go too fast and crash into that mattress too hard, his heart would break a little too with the thought of all the work that would go into fixing them again. Oh happy days!

As for the scrapping, yay! I am glad that you like them! And it makes me happy that it inspired you to start your own.

Hmmm - rose petals out of the air cannons - why does that have marketing department written all over it. I wonder if your friend was around during Light Magic when they were shooting this horrid, glittery confetti around that was made of a clingy acetate-type film material that just did not want to vacuum up. Hee - when we'd get our ropes wrapped up fast enough after the first parade, we'd run backstage between the castle and Big Thunder in time to watch Tink slam into the air mattress. Then there were those nights when she'd have no tail wind and they'd have to winch her in. Yay for happy days!

Oh yeah - fireworks are only on weekends right now. Once summer kicks in they'll be back to the daily grind (providing the winds aren't blowing into the surrounding neighborhoods - blow over DL - fine, blow over the neighborhoods north of Ball Rd. or west of West St., uh uh).
