I know! I feel bad for him too. Hopefully his quest for L will not remain fruitless. :)

Oh yes, that is part of the reason for Near being in Mello's dreams. The rest will become clearer later. Can't say more without giving out spoilers. XD

Thanks so much! I'm glad you're starting to like Near. I do prefer Mello hands down, but there Near definitely has his moments. :)

Haha, I doubted anyone would have been able to predict Near's real feelings. The hints in earlier chapters were incredibly small and subtle, I think. XD

Ack! When I saw you posted Chapter Ten I realized I forgot to review this one. So I will do that, because it was amazing and awwwwww Mello. His honesty is so sweet! He really reminds me of Haru sometimes. And I'm glad Near finally realized who the true object of his desires was. I found it believable because Near doesn't spend too much time thinking about his feelings, per se, so he would be blindsided.

Omg, you're right. Mello is like Haru. Both incredibly smart, pretty people with histories of sexual abuse and an inclination to dress provactively...

Is it bad that I'm envisioning Mello/Haru now? Or Haru/Mello...

Oh God, too sexy. Brain dying now. XD
