Do you prefer a [ ]male or [ X ] female stamp or [ ] don't care? BUT if you really feel I'm more like one of the guys, I won't quibble too much
Do you prefer a [ ] fantasy or [ ] sci-fi stamp or [ ] don't care or [ X ] both?
getting to know you
Positive characteristics: Honest, faithful, empathic, family-oriented, intelligent
Negative characteristics: Stubborn, opinionated, disorganized, standoffish (outside of my own circle)
Neutral characteristics: Sensitive
Quote that describes you: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Motto that you live by (if different from above): Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
these are a few of my favorite things
Give an explanation if needed.
Color: Dark Green (Emerald) - new growth, spring, full of secrets
Animal: Wolf - both loner and pack animal - my family is the most important thing in my life, but I'm kind of standoffish with strangers - polite but distant
Mythical creature: Unicorn - both the innocence and the power - the unicorn is both a peaceful creature and a protective one. I prefer a peaceful solution, but I am not opposed to fighting in order to defend or protect.
Extinct animal: Sabretooth tiger or Mammoth - not that I want to meet one, but I think they would have been neat to see!
Fantasy novel: Lord of the Rings - timeless truths in an engaging story - the small band out to prevent the end of the world - they are each individual and unique, but they have a common goal. They understand that sometimes you have to fight for what is right.
Sci-fi novel: Of the books classified as Sci-fi, I would have to choose Frankenstein - it is a classic tale, but timely in the age of cloning. A wonderful warning about what happens when man tries to play God.
Other novel: Watership Down (I know it's fantasy, but I figured I could do that) - if you've never read this book - GO BUY IT...RIGHT NOW!
Fantasy movie: Lord of the Rings (same as the book!) - for a difference, I would say Labrynth or Willow - again, for the strength each individual has to do either good or evil
Sci-fi movie: Serenity - small freedom-loving band versus big government!
Other movie: I have a LARGE collection of movies...among the top - The Thin Man, Pride & Prejudice, United 93, Its a Wonderful Life, Schindler's List, The Longest Day...etc.
Fantasy/Sci-fi tv show: Supernatural (at least before the Sam going bad thing - not sure I liked that), Buffy, Stargate, Stargate: Atlantis, Star Trek (Original and Next Generation)
Other tv show: CSI: New York, Criminal Minds, Magnificent Seven
Time period: Conveniences - modern day; to study - Europe from 1912 - 1945 (or so) and the modern state of Israel; many others to see or study but probably not live there
Non-fantasy/sci-fi hero and heroine: Mac Taylor from CSI: New York & Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds
Song with a sample of lyrics: Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler - cause I like my guys to be the rugged, rough & ready sort - NOT the pretty boy type
"Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?"
this or that
Are you more -there is room for both; please explain.
Abstract or Concrete:
Adventurous or Homey: Probably more homey - though I enjoy going to new places and seeing new things, I'm happier where I can speak the language.
Agreeable or Distant: Polite but a bit distant to strangers - I don't really do chit-chat.
Cheerful or Melancholy: Cheerful - who has time to be melancholy?
Clever or Pretty: Clever - I'm more of a plain girl.
Concise or Wordy: Both - I can be wordy when I'm excited about a topic, but concise on giving answers or when regularly talking.
Creative or Traditional: Traditional I suppose - I don't mind creative answers, but why reinvent the wheel?
Emotional or Logical: Mid-road with a leaning toward logical - emotional should be used to reinforce/fuel actions, but logic should be the basis for a decision
Extroverted or Introverted: Introverted - I'm only extroverted with my family & friends OR on a hot topic
Fighter or Lover: Middle? I believe in standing up for my beliefs. While I prefer peaceful solutions, I know that sometimes it is going to come down to a fight.
Flexible or Stubborn: Stubborn with some flexibility. I will stick with my opinions and beliefs unless someone can really provide PROOF of their invalidity.
Free-spirited or Practical: Practical - you have to be real when considering solutions...people who come up with solutions that just WON'T work and refuse to look at other solutions they don't like make me nuts.
Goody-two-shoes or Naughty: Goody-two-shoes with a quiet naughty side - I'm usually good, but in some small things I get wicked.
Helpless or Independent: I'm not helpless, but I do live with my extended family. I guess I would be inter-dependent.
Impulsive or Planner: Mostly impulsive I guess? I plan for some things, but...
Mental or Physical: Mental - I am not generally the physical sort.
Modest or Vain: Again, both - I'm modest about more physical things and accomplishments, but privately I'm more vain about my knowledge.
Subdued or Vivacious: Both - I tend to be more excited/lively with my family & friends while being more quiet in social situations.
test me; know me
The follow questions are optional - if you know the answer, please respond. If you are unsure, feel free to leave blank.
What is your
Myers-Briggs personality type? Would you agree? (
Test ) I believe it was INTP - Analytical Thinker - absent minded professor - yep, probably.
What are your highest intelligences according to
Gardner? No idea
What is your
alignment? Lawful Neutral - A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. The common phrase for lawful neutral is "true lawful." Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.
What is your zodiac symbol? Does it fit you? (
Western /
Chinese /
Celtic ) Western - Taurus -- Chinese - Ox -- Celtic - Willow -- All of them are about strong-willed individuals, so I would say "Yes" they fit.
Do you have any siblings? What order are you? One sibling - I'm the eldest.
Would you consider yourself religious or spiritual? Yes
would you rather
These are very extreme opposites, meant to be difficult to choose. Pretend you're being forced to decided one or the other.
Sacrifice yourself to save your friends or save them by marrying the villain? Sacrifice myself - I'd hate to be in someone else's control.
Fight to the death or have someone else rescue you? If someone else rescues me, great, but I am NOT going to stay in a bad situation hoping someone shows up.
Live in a land of deadly dinosaurs, atrocious aliens, or mythical monsters? Mythical monsters - at least they have recorded weaknesses
aWear a crown or corset or combat boots? Or all three? NO CORSET! I don't believe in the restriction of choices, and the corset would be representative of that. I suppose I would choose combat boots - this role has the most flexibility usually.
Sneak into the enemy’s lair or break down the front door guns a-blazing? Sneak! The one that will win is the one who shows up first with the most guns and doesn't let anyone know they are coming.
Have superpowers and have thousands of enemies or be ordinary and forgettable, but safe? Safe - I wouldn't mind some powers, but THOUSANDS(?) of enemies - not good.
Live with your loving family, but never leave home or not have anyone close to you, but go on adventures? Live with my loving family - to be alone is worse than to be stuck in one town
the hero in all of us
Would you travel in a group or be a loner? What role in the group would you fill? Group of closely connected people - I'd probably be the sounding board/2nd in command
What would be your costume? Nothing flashy, something that blends and does not draw attention - I prefer the element of surprise.
What would be your weapon of choice? Something quiet but deadly - if I have to actually use a weapon, if I cannot think of way out of the problem, then I need to be quick and definite.
Would you have a sidekick or pet? I'd probably BE the sidekick.
Any special powers? Empathy - to know the emotions of those around me - especially when someone means me harm
If you could invent any device, what would it be and what would it do? ...no idea...a magic wand maybe that would do my paperwork/filing correctly
What sub-genre would you be a part of? (romance/comedy/action…) hopefully romance/actions
What conflict would you prefer? (man v. man, man v. wild…) man vs. man - sometimes this can be reasoned out
look at me
Completely optional; post 1-3 pictures of yourself. Feel free to add pictures to the above sections to help voters know more about you. Please keep pictures decent and small; smaller than 500x500.
