I admire people who can take extended internet breaks. Since 1998, the longest I've been able to go without the internet is 3 weeks, and it was wonderful.

Good luck with reading actual physical books instead! Gotta keep them typin hands agile somehow.

i don't understand, you get _paid_ to use the _internet?_ Are you sure you're not getting ripped off by the Prince of Nigeria?

Yeah, definitely a strange idea, a tech-fast... is it internet-only or can you like, play mp3s and draw an ms paint picture? If the latter, I'd say I'm just about to the point of doing that myself sooner than later, just to 1) work more diligently on projects which involve the computer but NOT the internet and 2) hang out with people irl, even just to come over and use their internet connection.

Man, I miss hanging out irl...

i am at work, using the internet. hence, i am getting paid to use the internet. the detritus blog is just a way to make it legitimate.

its more like "i don't have a wireless card, why should i set up my computer?" and there it sits, under my desk, monitor blank. my computer needs a fixin' anyway, so i can't really use it much to begin with. so there are barriers to setting it up that i haven't felt the need to cross. it was a surprise that i've enjoyed it, and gabe's fucked up computer is always in the next room.

tech-fasts are the new lemon juice and cayenne pepper cleanses.

i've been doing a lot of hanging out irl, just not with YOU!!
