I purged my lj acct due to new health issues that were getting progressively worse.

Rough post.

Due to medical problems,
I had to leave the social work program.
And I was due to get my Master's in May.
At least I do have my SW Bachelor's degree..

Now that I am home 24/7, thought I might post a bit.

I'm sure you're wondering yourself if there just might be a way to get that degree after all. You were so close. Isn't there someone who could intercede for you? It does seem like quite a shame. I don't know why and I'm not asking but I was hoping for a "miracle" for you.

I know I would have gotten the degree if it weren't for the health issues. And since I cannot work, getting the degree wouldn't be useful. Because of the growth behind man eye, I cannot keep my eyes open during the day. And the nerve damage in my legs from diabetes keeps me up most of the night as does sleep apnea. It does seem like a shame....heck, just dealing with the pain is shameful all by itself without it landing on my degree. And I made it this far with my GPA never falling below 100$ aka 4.0

I pretty much covered the health issues in this comment area. I go to the opthamalogist in 2 wks for an ultrasound on one eye. I've been doing this for two decades. There is a flat growth there but if it grows in the least bit, they would have to take the eye out due to its location. My brother lost his 2 legs to diabetic complications.
With all my health stuff, I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place.
Thank you so much for caring. Having space to vent can really help!

I'm so sorry. . . it's sad how some people have to suffer so much. You do sound like you have a great attitude though. I guess it's all you can do. :(
