I'm going to give this a try.
Monday will be out of the blue question day.
I hope my lj friends will answer.
It can be a way to get to know each other better.

This Monday's Question: I collect Hummels, Lilliput Lane cottages, teapots, Victorian Christmas ornaments.

What do you collect?

I collect fabric, beads, tarot cards (love the art), Halloween decorations (including a few vintage pieces), books, and band-specific buttons.

You are unique! Do you sew and make things with the fabric you collect? The only fabric I collect is a project (like making kitchen curtains) that I never get around to finishing! I used to collect halloween decorations and fix my front yard up like a graveyard with tombstones with rhyming things on them. But when I divorced and moved 3000 miles away, I did not take them with me. Would love to see some of your vintage pieces when autumn rolls around again...or maybe you have old photos of your Halloween collection.

I certainly mean to sew with the fabric I collect; maybe one day I'll finish a project and it will steamroll my collection into actual supplies for other projects. But I've become the person to donate fabric to; my mom is my biggest contributor, but there are others. And I have some (not many) samples that serve as reference pieces not to be used as project material, but as a comparison for buying modern fabrics for historical design.

I usually decorate my yard for Halloween with the usual items, gravestones and skulls and the like. One day when I'm certain the cat won't hurt them, I'll display the vintage items inside the home. I hope to get back into decorating this fall; the last one was not a good autumn for me and no decoration happened.

As silly as it may sound to some....I stopped decorating for Christmas 3 yrs abo when my darling shihtzu died and then our min pin was killed. I just lost the holiday spirit and haven't gotten it back. Even sold my big artificial tree. My son used to say he thought it would start snowing in the house because of all the decorating I did as he was growing up.
