I'm always in awe of people who do pinch-hits. It seems to me like a tough job - coming up with a decent fic in such a short time frame, and knowing nothing of the prompt that might land in your lap. *bows down to you*

Me too. Sometimes I can have such a hard time coming up with a fic for a prompt that fits my writing, I can't imagine what I'd do with one that doesn't.

I'm such a procrastinator that being a pinch hitter isn't all that different from participating normally for me, which probably doesn't say great things about my study habits. And I've had this prompt awhile now, I just wasn't sure how to even start a fic that asked for an interpretation I find so strange. But I think I've figured it out now so yay!

I like your picture too. Mine is reminding me of the Jersey Shore, one of my favorite places in the world, that I go to every summer. I hope I can avoid Americanizing my story subconsciously.
