Sophie wasn't generally an early riser if she didn't have company, but she was considering a trip into Baltimore again to look for ideas for the gallery. It was more of a hobby than a business, but still. She had to act the part of a gallery owner, correct?

So she was up and on her balcony, drinking coffee, and contemplating options.

And that was about when Steve came knocking at her door, bearing a plate of brownies.

Steve's idea of 'early' and other people's didn't always mesh, so yes, he'd been up for a while.

Sophie frowned, then went to answer the door, eyebrows going up at the unknown woman with chocolate. "Hello? Are you a new neighbor?" If so, absolutely splendid. Anyone who came bearing chocolate was definitely welcome.

Steve laughed. "It's me, Sophie. Steve. I'm sorry to bother you, but I brought brownies, and I need a little help." He gestured with his free hand to his body. "As you can see, I'm not quite myself today."

Sophie took a moment to stare it complete shock, automatically opening the door further. "Steve? Good lord, you make a lovely girl. Truly?"
