Hi,

From the description, I think the second story you are looking for is "Dunne Deal" by Helen W found on fanfiction.net. It is the story in which JD is shot and the one where Chris thinks he's too young and makes up a position that is part agent and part tech support. JD also helps with the equipment that had the team stumped. Link to story below:
