I'm on Synthroid for an underactive thyroid and have been for years and years. Without medication I'm lucky to get four hours of sleep and am a wreck the next day. :(

Benadryl does notihng for me and I hear so many people say it knocks them out. But perhaps my tolerance is due to a lifetime of taking drowsy antihistamine meds...your body really does get used to them. I sure hope they can figure out what's up with your lack of sleep. I empathize to an extent because I have on and off insomnia and sleep deprivation is truly awful.

It is terribly rude to ask a woman about a pregnancy no matter how pregnant she looks. Renee's story is a case in point. And some women are just large so yeah...

We had a conversation about this at the library a few weeks ago. We all agree: the answer to "When is it appropriate to ask when the baby is due?" is "Not even when the contractions are thirty seconds apart and the doctor is yelling 'push'."

I agree on the don't-assume-pregnancy rule.

I also think that salespeople should never assume their customers have ever had children, unless there is one (or more) calling her "Mommy" very loudly. One clueless specimen helpfully told me that a certain cut of undergarment was not recommended for women who had had C-sections. If I didn't want to be That Grumpy Lady, I would have socked her in the eye and walked away without buying anything. (I did set her straight and she did apologize, but apparently I am still entertained by the mental image of socking her in the eye.)

Sorry for the rant :-p and good luck with the sleep study!
