FWIW, both my grandma's thought that Mom's taste in wallpaper was lovely. :o I also remember my godparents' kitchen/dining nook was papered in METALLIC wallpaper. Oy. I think that the 70's were just synonymous with gaudy taste.

I don't really object to the idea of flocked wallpaper in general, but in a bathroom? That doesn't seem right.

I once saw a house that had carpet in the bathroom, not just on the floor, but halfway up the walls too. That was an... interesting design decision.

Carpet in the bathroom sounds so unsanitary - EW EW EW. I can smell it in my mind. Bathrooms are damp places where people pee and poop (in the toilet, I hope, but still, especially if there are guys who don't aim to please around...)

I have bad news - it's completely covering the walls of the whole master suite. And this is a 70's rancher, so there are no high ceilings here, except in the living room.

The wallpaper in my bathroom I think I've gotten so used to that it hardly ever registers on my brain anymore. More and more I am dreaming of plain pale blue walls these days, though.

That is why I hate the flocked wallpaper in the BATHROOM so much. It's unsanitary. Not just because of the pee-splatter problem but because bathroom = shower = dampness = mildew.
