That's disgusting. Those poor schmos in character at Disney World/Disneyland have to put up with so much - it comes with the territory for KIDS to pee on them, but adults? What a creep.

To me it sounds like his determined insipidity is a cover for some gnarly demons. Jung would have a picnic with the Painter of Light's Shadow...

I really want to Google "Thomas Kinkaide La-Z-Boy" now, but I'm scared of what might come back!

I have friends of the Evangelical persuasion who just love him. They like Precious Moments figurines, as well. *sigh*

there were Thomas Kinkade prints in one out of ten houses in America

That is possibly the most disturbing thing I've ever heard.

There used to be a site that 'fixed' Kinkade's work. You know, murder outlines in the cottage gardens, that sort of thing. Sadly, I can't find it now. Boo.

I cannot find the words to express my feelings at his kitsch cottage prettiness. As for being allied to spiritual or religious feelings *shudders* Perhaps there will be a specially added circle of hell ...

The tragedy is that he obviously DID have some genuine talent, as the article shows with those two pictures of Chicago. Oh well, each to his own in terms of art appreciation I guess, though I do like the sound of that website which "fixed" some of his later works *grins*
