I'm going to try not to be as spotty in posting and reading as I was. The Mercury Retrograde sucked this year and went on too long. :/ Also, this new business class I'm taking at JFKU is kicking my butt. They expect me to work HARD. I hope there's a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow

I know that "you can't take it with you" is the hoariest of cliches, but seeing Mom die brought it home to me in a real way. I believe in a soul and a life after death, but I do know that Mom, wherever she is, did not bring her stuff with her. It stayed here with ME. :/
I'm reminded of the graves of all those Egyptian pharaohs and Chinese emperors and so on, who thought they could take it with them to the point of having little terra-cotta soldiers in the Chinese emperor's graves, I suppose to miraculously turn into an army in the afterlife. To say nothing of human sacrifice in Aztec cultures! I wonder how many of those sacrifice victims said on the "other side," - Those people want me to intercede with their gods? After they ripped my still-beating heart from my chest? No, thank you! They and their gods can go suck an egg!
