Now I’m having serious cravings for a Raspberry slushie. :(

Although, that also raises the question: why is raspberry flavoured stuff blue, when raspberries are actually more of a reddish pink?

\random.

my answer isn't entirely true - i only call them slurpees at 7-11, everywhere else i call them slushies. is that weird?

My answer to #1 is "none of the above". I call it eaither a "frozen Coke" if that's what it is, or a "slush puppy".

No, I don't know why. Must be a crazy Australian thing.

:-)

JK

Slush Puppy was a brand that made those things. That's probably where it came from. I've heard it used here in the U.S. as well. :)

If it's Icee brand, I call it an Icee. If it's Slurpee brand (can you get that anywhere but 7-11?) I call it a Slurpee. If it's any other brand, it's a slushie. Was that confusing enough? ;)

I used to call all sodas Coke when I lived in Virginia. You asked for a Coke and then they asked what kind and then you could say Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, Sprite, or even Pepsi.

I moved to Texas and ordered a Coke, and I'll be damned if they just gave me Coke without asking me what kind I wanted. And I'd wanted Dr. Pepper, darn it. Now I say soda after years of getting Coke when I'd wanted something else.

Here in Boston they're all called "tonic", and they're sold at the "spa" [corner store].

For the record, I'm from the Ozarks, and I call 'em all "Coke".
