Astroturf Capital Storming Jackasses and the Lukewarm Response

I've been teaching my students words like "coup" and "putsch" and "astroturf". I have never hidden my politics at school*, and have had many discussions on wars being prosecuted, on Black Lives Matter protests, on gender and sexuality, and so on. Here's a decent article on some of the shadowy groups who organized the Jan. 6 events, although I'm sure the Times and the Post will have more in-depth looks soon:

It's probably a cliched observation, but it strikes me that people storming a capitol building chanting "1776!" in order to overturn representative government is pretty much exactly the kind of thing Marx had in mind with the famous "first tragedy, then farce" observation.
