Sunday Night Blues, Union Edition

It is almost 10:30, and I am not ready to go to bed and concede that my weekend is over. I also haven't eaten dinner, and that is stupid for numerous reasons, actual physical hunger being one of them. (In a follow up to my last entry more than a month ago... Do I ever feel your pain!

We had to do work-to-rule two years ago, and it is a shit tactic guaranteed to lose. I kept saying that I was pro-union, I'd voted to strike like everyone else, but I wanted to win. A strategy that is bad PR (complicated, difficult to explain to the public, affects the kids more than anyone), has no economic impact, and ends up being extra work for the teachers because the marking still has to get done somehow, is not going to win. This time around, we will probably strike but they've decided against work-to-rule for the same reasons.

Your classroom pictures are inspiring. I can never decorate for shit.

Love all the student work on the walls. If I were a parent, I'd have a fridge covered in my kids' doodles.
