-14C - it's getting warmer

So we've had -23-20C and sun shining for a week and now it's getting warmer. It's -14C today and it's going to increase up to 0C and even higher, i.e. defreezing point, in about 2 days. Which is not nice at all. In fact it's a complete crap. Melting snow, slippery grey mush under the feet and no sun - hell, how I hate it all, argh! -10C is perfect ( Read more... )

I love that dry cold. We experienced in Finland, above the Arctic circle in December. And only five hours of grey-light per day at best. My only problem is that my glasses steam up badly upon returning indoors!

The snow has stayed here since Friday. I love it! I don't have to travel anywhere, and can enjoy walking to the shops wearing my fur-lined boots and other warm clothes. Every day as it gets dark, and the Christmas lights illuminate the town, we light the living room fire and settle in cosily for the evening. The atmosphere is finally just right for the festive season. :-)

I'm sure one can get used to it.

Yesterday, it was -10°C here, which was unusually cold. Today it's cozy -5°C. :)
