Running yourself through careful triage. Questioning that the reason for your seeming well-being could be shock. After playing bumper-cars with the median. You, Lara, are badass.
I'm glad you had had so many people there for you, and I'm really glad that you came through it so unscathed. It's unfortunate when saftey gets in the way of adventures.
Thanks, Wes. *small smile* Though, I must admit, I didn't feel very badass at the time. And I still wish I'd been enough of a badass to have not been in that situation in the first place! But such is life, and now at least I know more than I did, and at a very small cost, all things considered.
*tight hug*
Come visit some time, hey? You are always welcome!
Wow. That explains the cryptic LJ posts. I'm glad you survived. It's weird I just read another first-person account of a car wreck. (The story; a follow up. I don't know that guy personally, he posts to planet.gnome.org.)
My mom was surprised about her pink air bags too, when her car decided it would rather rest on a tree then drive down an icy road. Fortunately it chose the tree over the icy stream below.
Technology really is amazing, though. So many accidents would have been fatal fifty years ago that people now just walk away from.
i'm glad to hear that bodily damage to you has been so minimal. your bruise is pretty. i hope it doesn't hurt too much.
i am sorry to see what befell the subraru. she was a trooper. i think it's kinda appropriate that her insides were pink. most people's insides are, right?
you are very right about not letting life stress you out. you have been so busy lately with so many things on your plate; taking time to breathe is important. perhaps despite initial inconveniences, this accident will lead you to a more relaxed pace in the near future.
(as an fyi, the chalk picture didn't work when i clicked on it. maybe i'm just slow.)

Thanks! I think so, too. Very colorful. And it doesn't hurt much at all.

She was an awesome trooper. But most people's insides are white and gray, I think. We just color them pink in pictures. Well, maybe the muscles are pink, but not the organs... I'll have to think about it. And then get back to you. *smile*

*nods* I hope so, too. We'll see, won't we? *grin*

I've never been in an accident but I've seen one (and heard one outside my apartment the other night). It's surreal to see a car spinning around in front of you - I can't imagine what it must be like to be inside that car.
Yay for being invincible! Just don't go testing that too often, okay?
Hey! I thought I saw you on my 'friend of' list, but I didn't recognize the name when I first saw it. I checked out your friends, though, and now I've got it narrowed down pretty well ;). Welcome! Sorry to hit you with such a sad post right off the bat. And thanks for the note--emotionally, LJ has been a great boon to me in times like this, which helps a lot with the residual shakiness.
(Funny--I'm in a very upbeat mood today, so I feel a little ashamed for (possibly) bringing other people down. I'll try to post a nice, excited, happy post later tonight after my Megan moves in with me. (Yay!))

I'm impressed by your calm. I've only been in minor (no car damage) accidents and they still left me shaken up.
Again, very happy you're okay and thanks for sharing the story.
