this has been a fairly decently packed weekend.  the internet has proven itself again to be my bloody hero, since it will have single-handedly fixed my dryer.  who needs a dodgy, greasy, eye-bepatched repairman when the internet swings in on a roll of dryer sheets to save the day?  i've taken the dang thing apart (the dryer, not the internet), ( Read more... )

all of you about to tell me what a fool i am *eyes [info]novembersnow * i made sure that all parts are returnable before purchasing them.

*whistles innocently and refrains from commenting on how clearly I am a good influence on you even in absentia*

oh there is NO DOUBT about your influence on me, good or otherwise, even from across a continent. i can safely say that a large portion of my decisions are made only after i ask myself "would November roll her eyes at me?" apparently, you are that voice in my head that keeps me from doing things like B.A.S.E. jumping. *grins*

There are worse legacies to have, I suppose. ;)

I really should find time to nip across the continent again sometime soon. Visiting you in Portland might have to be my next big vacation in a year or two. (Not that that's going to stop me trying to convince you to come here to visit as well. :-P)

Your photos of the school are absolutely beautiful! I particularly like the second one. A very grand gate into... nothing.

thanks. :-) you should have seen me when i drove by it the first time. i couldn't keep my eyes on the road i was so captivated. i wish i could take people to see it in person, because no pic is really going to do it justice. *sigh*

i agree. it's such a shame they're tearing it down. i think my favorite part is the "645" stamped next to the door. it totally doesn't fit with the rest of the building, which just makes it that much more awesome. thanks for commenting!

yes! we'd love to come over for dinner. i keep talking all about you to M and she's like 'who is this person you can't shut up about already'? so btw, do you need help with the moving?

i'll need help with the flat, though not in the usual moving way. i only have 21 boxes at my brothers, and they most likely won't all get moved at once (due to a series of logistical issues), but might need assistance in picking up and transporting various things i need to acquire to outfit the flat (because i can hardly have you over for dinner until i have actual plates and perhaps a chair or two). am virtually starting from scratch.

can't wait to show it to you and meet M, too!
