it is too hot to live.  i actually taped tin foil over the windows this morning.  tin foil.  i thought people only did that in Alaska.  also, i went to Target last night to try and get a kiddie pool for my poor dog who is having a year shaved off her life for every day we break 100-degrees.  but when i asked the sales person if they had any, she ( Read more... )

What does the tin foil do?

it blocks out the sun completely. people in Alaska use it during the summer when the sun doesn't set so they can sleep at night. i was hoping in my case that it would help prevent the magnifying-glass effect of sun streaming through an unblocked window (i have yet to put up shades in my house--how long have i been living here again? oh yeah, almost nine months.)

Nice ponies!

it says that you're totally AWESOME. also, i <333 your icon. hahaha. i had a MLP (my little pony) obsession when i was a teenag-- ahem, i mean, when i was a child. i still actually have all my MLPs in a spacious, luxurious storage container out in my garage. ... of course, they're probably all melted by now. *sigh*

that is just way, way too hot to exist in without a/c!! it's been pretty hot and humid here too [although "only" in the mid-80s] and i've been so grateful for my one window unit.

i concur most vigorously. or at least as vigorously as i get while melting into a puddle of goo. i wanted to buy a window AC unit several weeks ago, but i caved to my partner's resistance--grrr--the silver lining being that i've gotten to say "i told you so" over and over again for the last four days now. needless to say, it's too late to buy an AC unit now. i'd be much surprised if there was one left on any shelf in any store anywhere on the west coast.

Today, to go with the moving of heavy objects: bonus scrubbing of things.

WOE.

The thermometer by my old place (vicinity westmoreland housing? by the furniture place?) said 109 again. MOTHERFUCKER NOT OKAY.

*drapes cold wet towel on head for thirty seconds of relief before it starts decoldifying*

Also, I am amused by the juxtaposition of your mood and subject lines.
