Went to the dentist today to get three cavities filled and a cracked tooth prepped for a crown.  And the novacane just wore off.  *pouts*  I love my dentist, I do, but seriously.  Ouch.  *rubs jaw in futility*

i know, right? even the best ones can't help hurting you. i wonder what it's like being in the most feared profession aside from public speaking teacher.

I seem to remember reading years ago that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession.

I was skeptical of that until my former dentist attempted suicide when I was in college. Tried to hang himself. His daughter found him. He didn't die, but I heard it rumored that there was irreversible brain damage, and he's still in a facility somewhere. Scary.

My current dentists, luckily, seem like well-adjusted sorts.
