Les Miserables

I just got back from the film version of Les Misérables. This is kind of a big deal for me, because I cut my fangirl teeth on Les Mis. It wasn't the first story I fell in love with, but it was the first story I loved with access to an internet connection. It also provided the first practical answer to the question 'What is the internet for, anyway ( Read more... )

With the caveat that I didn't read your actual thoughts on Les Misérables, the reason being I have yet to see it (but soon, soon), I stumbled here eventually, realized this was a recent entry, and thought I'd say hello before my reason cut in and stopped me.

If I haven't got tangled and turned around by twelve years of usernames and new social media websites post-Diaryland (RIP), you were the typist of the unforgettable Darcel Grantaire, once upon a time. I don't know if you'll at all remember me, but I was once Adrienne Florian (or Ann, less romantically), typist of Marcelin Enjolras III/Stolid!Enjolras "fame" at AnkhMUSH, lo so many years ago.

So, um, yes. Hello. :)

Oh, hi!

I am who you think I am - it's been ages. How are you?

I'd be interested to know what you think of the film when you do see it. At the moment I'm stuck on bafflement that apparently the cast highlights album doesn't include Do You Hear the People Sing?. What on earth do they think people are going to see this film for?

I am well! It's been a busy several years. I've got a year left for my bachelor's, after taking quite a lot of time off because of life. How are you?

I just got back from my viewing. All of Les Amis and Gavroche and Eponine and oh god why is everything made of pain. I don't really know how much I can speak for it. It's honestly been years since I've done more than occasionally pick out one song or other to listen to, when they come up in my music player. And I've only seen it the once on stage, what feels like centuries ago. I don't know if I have the emotional energy to sit through the movie version again in the theater. But I liked it. I liked it quite a lot.
