We're getting there! Slowly but surely! *looks around* So, Texas, you're next, right? Right?

Yeah, I think TX is *right in there* with legalizing...maybe if Austin could secede...
*sigh*
What a stupid fucking thing to be against/ not legalize.
Hurts NO ONE to do...
I don't understand people, and I never will.

I keep hoping that the Austinites will take over the state legislature and tell the stupid Republicans that they no longer get to make decisions about social stuff. Hell, the way things have been going, they no longer get to make decisions about *anything*.

Of course, it hurts people because we break down the family unit. Or something. I'm sure my idiotic brother-in-law will be ranting about it for awhile.

Yeah, the Family Unit.
'cuz who someone else is screwing really has bearing on population-at-large.
I mean, is being with the opposite sex so unappealing that the only reason most do is because it's the legal way to get off with another person consistently? (Wait, don't answer that ;) )
point is, it is a *threat* to *nothing*
Gay parents don't cause gay children, gays in the community don't foster "team-switching" and hedonism, a gay person being able to adopt a partner's child, visit them in the hospital, be on an insurance plan does diddly squat to the rest of the universe...
It's not like we have any shortage of people popping out kids or anything, which is the only POSSIBLE thing I could think of to make a government try to regulate or promote opposite-sex pairing

...I hadn't heard anything about that? Could this mean it's stopped being news? Please? "Oh, by the way, a new state legalized gay marriage." "Oh, okay, let's move on with our day." "All right."

~fingers crossed~

Washington might be closing in on it. They have partnership rights, and I think the governor is pushing really hard for making it all official. Can we start a "Wedding Bells" pool? Pick a state and, if they're the next to legalize it, you win... um... a free U-Haul rental or something? ;-D

It *just* came through on the BBC World News feed, so it may make news here tomorrow. Although, the people in the article were doing happy dances in daylight, so...who knows. I'll be watching CNN overnight and keep an ear open to see if they say anything on American Morning.

a free U-Haul rental or something?
*falls over laughing* I love it!
