Get on top of it! (I'm trying!)

I have a dilemma.

I'm almost done with Great Expectations -- seriously, while it's great that I get to check another classic off my list, it has taken me entirely too long to read 480 pages -- and I'm trying to figure out what to read next. I'm most likely going to pick up an easy mystery or possibly a trashy historical romance novel.

And that's where I'm leaning -- not reading it, not subjecting my eyeballs to it, and certainly not spending a red cent on it. I also don't want to borrow it from my library, because ... ick.

It has 73 holds out on 13 copies at the Portland Public Library! I don't know what's worse - that the Portland Public Library, which only has six branches, has 13 copies, or that there are almost 75 people in Portland who are waiting to read it. Ugh.
