Last week I wrote an article for Farmerphile about the Phil Farmer story "Riders of the Purple Wage" and how it was a take-off / send-off of James Joyce's books Finnegan's Wake and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Part of this process included re-reading select portions of both books.

I confess, part of me was hoping you would write the article a la Joyce when I said that (sorry I was so late with the comment). I'd love to read "Stake" when you complete it.

I hope I didn't sound like I was slapping you down...as far as I know, only Mike and I knew I was working on the article. If anything, I wish I'd thought of the idea myself. "Stake" will just have to do. :) When the first draft (or maybe second, this time) is done, I'll grit my teeth and post it on the Criterary filter.
