Bless you. I wish I'd had that on Sunday when my Republican Forever Or Die father tried that "argument" on me. He's getting a link to this right good and quick.

We know of course that if Preseident Gore were doing all this, the Pubbies would all go splooie with Justifiable Outrage.

There's a lot more where that came from too. Apparently I have a reputation here on campus for being able to find just about any bit of information sooner or later, and sometimes I even put that skill to good use. :)

So what this amounts to is that there is no real difference between Republican and Democrat politicians. They're all crooks.

As I implied above, I think the only difference between Bush and Clinton here was that Clinton asked permission while Bush asked forgiveness.

...with that said, Fein has come out strongly against Bush the Younger's attempts to buttrape the Constitution.

w.r.t. the wiretaps:

Bruce Fein, a lawyer who worked in the Justice Department under President Ronald Reagan, wrote in a commentary in the Washington Times last week that Bush should face "possible impeachment" if the practice is not stopped.
