As loads of you probably know I love cooking. It's my end of day relax. Every now and again I pick a theme for my cooking for a couple of weeks. There's a similar sea bass in foil recipe in Whittingstalls latest. Except that uses fennel with garlic and ginger with soy sauce. Hopefully the fennel in the fridge is still edible and I'll pick up some sea bass tomorrow.
Mmmm Nigella, I'd be the Johnnie to her Fanny any day :D Okay so that requires being old to understand the tv chef references beyond the purely deviant.

I know Fanny Cradock ! They actually showed her Christmas episode on TV last Christmas ! It was awesome.

The only problem with any recipe involving fennel is that is involves fennel. I find the taste too overpowering. Saying that I'll give any recipe a go.

It seems to be variable as to how strong the fennel is and not sure why. Maybe it needs to be as fresh as possible.
There was a tv biopic on Fanny not long ago. Part of the famous women who were evil series , along with Enid Blyton and Barbara Cartland (not a real series but there are these three at least in recent years)

Hmmm. Sadly I disagree with your assessment of her. I find she cooks for appeareance rather then taste. However her shows are highly entertaining, mainly for her constant attempts to make herself out as an Everywoman.

My Gran doesn't like her either, mostly because she doesn't roll her sleeves out of the way to cook and keeps touching her hair while she does it.

Oh please do keep us posted, will be interested to hear how the recipes turn out as I'm never sure if my interest in Nigella is remotely to do with her food or not ;-)
