I have at last made it through Frankenstein (a task that became more difficult as I went along, as for a long while towards the end I began to lose the sympathy with the narrator that makes a read speedier and more enjoyable).  I have also made it through most of Frederick Douglass' Narrative, which is indeed a much speedier read than the other
