Yay! So I'm brainstorming on ideas for the next big yaoi_challenge which will take place around October. This will be the final challenge of the year for the comm (which has seen very little action this year due to my sucktitude of a life). I want it to go out with a bang, but I'm a little baffled as to what to do.

I have some ideas, but I'm iffy about them.

I'd be happy to listen if you'd like to bounce some ideas off of me. Don't have LJ access at work, but I have AIM - kuroinox.

Welcome back,, love! You and Eddie Izzard, huh? Nothing but fabulousness all around! *G*

So you've heard of ds_recs, right? *wink* Well, I was thinking about doing something similar but on a multi-fandom level. Set up Character Love Days, Rec Days (art, fic, music, vids) etc. etc. and have someone wax poetic about their favorite things at the moment (from whatever fandom that may be). I'm working on the choosing specific content for each day, but do you think it's too broad in scope or ....

I don't know. *hands*

We did something like this over at dancedance_fan but I really didn't want to change the premise of that comm because it was created by three individuals and Just no... it was collaborative effort and I'm not messing with that.

So ...

I love the idea! You could also do "rare pairings day," "I love this minor character day," "kink of the week," "crossover recs day," "AU day," "favorite uke day (or topping from the bottom day," heehee! -- etc. I'd say the trick is to keep it simple - start with a very simple premise and gradually get more complicated.

Let me know how I can help.

How about a character love day, a 'meta is love' day, an "appreciation 101" or "a few of my favorite things" day in which a fan shows their appreciation for a certain artist/author/vidder/genre/show writer etc. , a 'my top five' day in which people can list their top five of whatever topic they choose to touch on (fashion, food, etc but it has to relate in some way to a fannish source material).

Maybe on the last day of the week we can do a "topic of the week" and invite everyone to all everyone's invited drabble party.
