New art: Ginny

May 12, 2005 19:47

God damn I'm bored. Feel like watching a film or something... hmm, might rent one out. Recently went to see Kingdom of Heaven (any Brit's reading - is it just me or did you get the advert 'Kingdom of Leather' stuck in your head when seeing the title? Heh) and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galazy. Loved both, though I haven't read HGttG so I can't ( Read more... )

God, I love your drawing of Ginny. Again, I can't think of nothing else but how it's so very Ginny, lol. Two thumbs up! ;)

Collateral? You sure it was me who suggested you to watch that? Because I've never watched that movie. At least, not yet. :p

Cheers!

Whoops... I think I read on your journal that you were thinking about watching it, thinking back. *slaps forehead* Well, you got it in my head, anywho. :D

I imagine Ginny as a bit of a tomboy too. :) Her pose (ha, I typed posse) really conveys confidence, I think. Did you use a photo reference or anything, or do you just draw from the imagination? Because her stance seems quite natural and believable. Good job!

ps I want her pants.

Ta! Yes, I used a photo reference. Though it was of a stick thin model, so I altered it to be a little less... anorexic. :P

Yes - I'm pleased with the pants, too. Damn freckles didn't show up though. *grumbles*

Hey, just found you through the eighth degree of friendship... bennmorland July 21 2005, 06:44:22 UTC
...but this picture is my favorite of yours thus far. I hadn't quite imagined her as a tomboy, just a rather sassy girl; but your rendition of her fits more snugly than my own impression. So much so, that since leaving the computer to continue HPatH-BP, her voice and mannerisms (the ones Rowling does not show us) changed in my head. I thought I'd share that with you.

Oh, and the reason why I chose this particular comment to "reply" to is because I wanted to say that your drawing is not at all over- or underweight. It's just perfect.

Thanks so much! :D And thanks for sharing your HBP experience - that is quite a compliment, that it alters your view of Ginny. Again, I'm very flattered - thank you!

And I'm glad she's not over or, in particular, underweight. It's so tempting sometimes to give them spectacularly perfect bodies, because it's brilliant to look at afterwards, but here I wanted Ginny to look natural. :)

An amazing drawing. You have got some wonderful details in there, especially with the clothes.

Everytime I see an interpretation of Ginny, or Ron or anyone really, I'm taken aback by their facial features. I looked at Ginny (and your earlier Ron too) for a while and decided that I like your interpretation very much.

Ack. Livejournal ate my comment. Anyway, to recap :D

I really like this. Ginny never struck me as the "classically beautiful" type, and that comes through in this drawing. She's playful and striking, just as I picture her. I like the detailing of her trousers and the freckles across the nose, too.

(Sorry if you're getting this twice. *shakes fist at LJ*)

Ha - that needs to be an icon! "Livejournal ate my comment" XD

Cheers! I don't see Ginny as being a Veela either - more interesting, which I think is more appealing. :) And yay - you could make out some freckles! *grumbles at scanner*

Thanks again :)

I really like this. Ginny's pretty, but not gorgeous and, as you say, the eyes are still somewhat pensive. Personally, I'd love to know what Ginny's done with those memories of Tom Riddle.

Have I mentioned that I love your "chess face" icon?

Thanks very much! I'm glad the pensieve eyes came across, I also find Ginny's trauma and how she is coping with it fascinating.

Ta about the icon - it's not my drawing however (If only! :D) but I did make if from cugami's work. Check her out - she's on LJ and does fantastic Ron's.

Thanks again. :)

Oh very nice - you captured Ginny's casual flare! I really like the clothing, lots of little details there.
