Regarding the apparent spoilers...

I really, really hope I don't offend anyone reading.

But I'm so pissed off that someone has (apparently) fed the book on the internet. It just seems... cheap. I dunno - maybe I'm treating midnight on friday too sacredly, but I want to feel the weight of the last book in my hand and smell the fresh parch pages.

And thanks to my flist for those who' ( Read more... )

I don't think feelings are spoilers, just because we've been having feelings about a lot of things since 1999. Heck, we all had a feeling Hagrid died in OoTP. Nope.

Ah, no - I didn't explain myself well. (I apologise - I've had a new cocktails tonight...) I meant feelings about spoilers. Sometimes people talk about suchandsuch wasn't in character because they said a certain word, etc.

I certainly wasn't talking about you, dear. :)

It's been a long time coming, this publication. Shame to have it spoilt now, so close to the day. And so much more fun to settle down with the book itself, especially when you've planned it like that. I don't blame you for wanting to stay unspoilt.

Depends how manic it's going to be--might just head out early Saturday instead to pick it up.

I know. No stamina, that's me ;-)

You should make a special filter of people who promise and vow not to post their feelings, predictions or spoilers.

"I so promise and vow not to post feelings, predictions or spoilers for a period not less than one week past the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

As I replied above - I don't mind (in fact love!) predictions and discussion and whatnot - I was referring (badly) to feelings about certain spoilers which kindof lean to mini-spoilers themselves. :)

You're so sweet, though - *IMAGINARY ADDS* :P I love talking to you regularly again, Benn!

I'm a depressed drunk, so I think we're in good mutual states. (I'm sober right now!)

I want to be with friends, but I'm home alone with no car (or, er, license for that matter)... :(

Have you lost your license, or never had one? *pictures Benn driving like a bat out of hell...* I've just started learning - my Granddad takes me to a car park every Sunday to practice. Pity his car has the worst gearbox in the WORLD. :)

I'm with you, sweetheart. I'm of the opinion that at this point, everything about the book should be behind a cut. Feelings about spoilers, theories, speculations- all of it. I don't want to hear someone's reaction to a spoiler for obvious reasons and I don't really want to see theories in case some one is accidentally too clever... Then when it comes around to the book and you've already figured something out without meaning to and I think it spoilers the fun a bit.

Maybe you could post and just not read, you know? I might do that at some point.

Very good idea - I really should follow your advice, I just seem to have a weird masochistic compulsion. :/
