New guy at my bus stop this morning asked about the schedule, and we wound up talking most of the way to work. He's an addiction counselor at the hospital who's only been in Baltimore six months. How nice! I'm glad that you can get pleasant social interaction with strangers without getting creeped out or hit on by anyone. Extra points for not judging people for being "funky looking" and making friendly eye contact to get the conversational ball rolling, too.

I talk to strangers a lot, it's something I enjoy even though it often ends creepy or awkward. Even when it's pleasant it's usually more about the weather or 'sure, you can tell me about your treatment plan' than making a real connection. So this was unusually nice.

Isn't it amazing how nice and refreshing it is to have good stranger experiences? (I feel like this would deserve a :) but then make my comment overly emoticony.)
