It's true. That's the deal with the suburbs. Things will be much more convenient now, since that's where I live. I needed to do this and I'm glad I did. But, as a small town/big city girl, I'm never going to stop hating places where you can't take a goddamn walk.
Ha! It kind of does, doesn't it? I think mostly that expression is 'it's before 9am and I don't like it' but then, that's a pretty good proxy for my feelings about driving on the beltway, too.
I like having a designated grownup system. Keep enough people who are sort of grownups or at least capable of being grownups in short bursts around that at any time someone's got it covered. (Kkay, it's usually Gloria or Jason, but, y'know, still.)

I know, because I see it every day in the mirror as I am realizing "they" are going to let me have a baby.
