I think it's just (or mostly) coming from under the carpet. When the whole thing got soaked two weeks ago from the 'broken pipe,' they left the carpet wet for several days. I thought (read: foolishly assumed) they had bleached the crap out of it, but apparently not.
Oh, but what else is awesome? After we sent them pictures of the mold and then took them there and pointed at the mold and the actual growing mushrooms and they decided to rip out the ceiling to see how extensive the damage was. After all that? I still had to tell them to take up the carpet. And they sounded skeptical about it. I don't know if that's been done yet.
