I used to get a fair number of Reggae records ... mostly Marley's. I had been under the impression that this was a musical form that went back decades, and was later semi-shocked to find that I was getting these records pretty much as they came out. I graduated HS in '75, and college in '79, which pretty much tracks his solo career. I also picked up a number of albums through the record clubs which appear to have been collections of other and earlier acts.
Being as interested as I was over those years in maintaining alternate states of consciousness, Reggae was hard to avoid at parties, etc. ... although I was far more likely to put on some Tangerine Dream when left to my own devices.
