Since then, oddly, Russia has invaded Ukraine - (maybe because Ukraine has some sensitive, "classified" documents?). Today, DOJ investigations into Hunter Biden financial corruption, et al, continue, via a Delaware grand jury - and, "things don't look good." Democrat-associated operative have been preparing for the likely possibility that charges will proceed, and have been arranging prophylactic damage control. However, if you think that the same, corrupt DOJ which oversaw the illegal home invasion of a former president, (and then complained that people were being mean to the FBI), is going to bring charges that will be game-changing, you can disabuse yourself right there. Already, it is being touted that the DOJ's Delaware office lacks sufficient resources to really get a hearty grip on this whole, knotty affair.
The good point is that that office has a measure of independence from political influencers, as opposed to relevant attourneys in NYC and WDC, who are clearly partisan. This is why Democrats have been worried. However, Delaware prosecutors may call a time-out to the investigations, until after the November 2022 midterms have completed. This is a judicial discretion - a personal leeway - meant to keep court cases out of politics.
But, it is quite likely that the WDC DOJ will persuade such discretion to work in its favour so that, in fact, no conclusion reaches the public before the elections, analogously to the kibosh that was put on the laptop story. "Judicial discretion," can be f political purposes. In any event, now is about the time that any announcement of such a suspension might be announced.
Over and over again, we have seen the informational can get kicked down the road, just long enough so as to allow another grab for power to succeed. This is exactly what is happening regarding the stonewalling and complications on the Mar-a-Lago documents "probe." It's just another play for time, and power.
