Just as god gave us pistachios so we could grow fingernails, god gave humans to bees so bees could advance their civilisation.  Many people around the world have been infected by the bee bug.  So they spend much of their time housing bees in bee condominiums, feeding them, making them happy, and trucking them all over the country.  The plan was

Pesticides such as neonicotinoids are one of the serious problems that bees are facing.

I would encourage people who are concerned about bees to embrace wild-looking flower-filled lawns, and be creative with their interpretations of HOA rules.

Additionally, buying organic is a way of reducing your pesticide footprint. It isn't perfect, but it helps.

Almond production the way it is set up today is actually terrible for bee populations. If you can reduce your almond consumption and reduce the demand for almonds, this helps.

Last but not least, if you buy honey and other bee products from responsible local beekeepers, you can help bee populations.

Sure - thanks - it's a very important subject! I should start a community about bees (I know there is one or two for beekeeping), or just insects, with an emphasis on their huge declines. It's terrible.

Thank you for all your hot tips. I wish more people could read them. Maybe I will repost over at healthy_living. They are all very good points. Didn't know - or maybe forgot - about almonds!

Maybe I will enquire about bees tomorrow at the farmers market.

Hey! I should send you a pic of that "bee" painting I did. Sadly, my sister has it and I am not talking to her - to any of them. So, not sure how I'd get it so I can get a pic. I was so good, back in the day, I never even took pics of the paintings I made and gave to other people. Anyway, I can describe it too you some time.
