What Stephen Holmes neglects to mention is that the free market only comes into play when it's convenient for richies. I saw an article about Vancouver's real estate market (which is crazy stupid expensive for no good reason) that covers this point.

I read The Shock Doctrine years ago. I thought she made some good points (although I should note that less negative events, like the prospect of holding an Olympic Games, also seems to bring the shock doctrine into effect, too).

Naomi Klein is Canadian, yes? I LOVE IT! - I think she was naive when young, and then counter naive when older, and it was the latter that brought her fame.

(Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of counter-naive in the USA, so, she had what it takes to get noticed. That doesn't always mean she might be scientifically right, btw).

I am a bi fan of Klein. And, I happen to be posting another post on her - and YOUR COMMENT is going to be included, entirely, unless you oppose, in which case it will be erased.
