When I first moved here, all sorts of toxic fumes were coming up my front stairs, from the apartment below. Also, they were yelling and banging and slamming, etc. I simply avoided going down those stars as much as I could. After hearing Don Fogelberg's song, "Netherlands", I started referring to the downstairs as a nether-land, or nether territory. That's how the tenants got their name, the "Nether-People". However, they were black and possibly still are.

I liked Clinton, but he got us into problems just like the rest of them: e.g., NAFTA, Wall Street deregulation, etc.
