The problem with austerity programs is that the people implementing them are the ones who - surprise, surprise - are the least affected by them. We've had experiments where people have lived on welfare for a month, or tried to live on a typical weekly allocation from a food bank - the people who have done this (mostly politicians and journalists) are almost always progressive. I would like to see one of the federal conservatives or the BC "Fiberals" try this.

you bet, i agree

it's unbelievable how spoiled the upper crusters have become - campaign doners scoff and pout when Obama doesn't kiss up to them, as they have been so accustomed for years, clinton and beyond
