I hear the opening music in, "The Politics of Truth," and I want to play Depeche Mode all day. I really got into Depeche Mode back during the Cafe Saga, RIP. yes the wall is excellent - a magnum opus - and yet full of human flaw, which makes it even better - although it can be too much if too much, ha ha - but i can totally see you liking it too!

Robyn Hitchcock isn't really punk, but I wish everyone would listen to him! CD - Queen Elvis is the best start.

I'm not sure about examples of psych.punk per se - i've never listened to Soft Boys. But some of the bands I mentioned, like Pixies or Throwing Muses have some surrealistic lyrics. There are several recent Indie bands doing psychedelic stuff, but my mind isn't really capable of listing this right now.
