Hitler was a Jew. It's true, it's true. In Americaland, if someone is 1/16th black, then that person is black. Or, at least, that's the way it's been until about 5 seconds ago. We don't yet know how wrong Marx was or whether he was wrong at all. I am too busy trying to figure out which Republican Presidential candidate is wrongest or least wrong about the economy to take a long range view of anything. Marx said that in the long run capitalism will destroy itself; what system will replace it, if any, is not known. It is pretty much up to us. That may not be Marxism, but it was what Karl Marx said.

Das Kapital was Marx's last writing on political economy. It was left unfinished at his death but it seemed to heading toward a more sober analysis of the post-capitalist world. Capitalism could well destroy us as it is in the process of destroying itself. He would have agreed with you that war is a necessary consequence of capitalism because shrinking markets are unacceptable and markets will not open themselves without force being applied ( ... )
