Author's Note: This story was the result of a prompt challenge I exchanged with the fabulous fabrisse after the episode "A Thousand Words." We speculated that Reid has a tattoo, and gave each other the story challenge of "Reid has a tattoo, and Emily happens to see it." We haven't seen each other's stories

Oh! So beautiful, especially the ending. It's refreshing to read a fic with Reid that doesn't depend on dialogue. But his characterization still rang true, as did Prentiss'. I will be reading this many times. Thank you.

Welcome! So glad you enjoyed it. The silence part wasn't planned but sort of evolved organically and I liked the contrast with Reid's usual chattiness.

Wow. I love the silence. My best relationships are all about the beauty of silence, and it was wonderful seeing it portrayed so lovingly.

I'm... just going to sit here for a moment. And stare. And bask in the wonderfulness that was this story. And then sit and beg for something like this to happen in canon because ye gods, you capture their voices perfectly.

Gotcha. It's just when someone I don't recognize appreciates Teh Reid/Prentiss I have to make sure they're aware that I've written approximately a kermillion words about their grand epic romance. :-)

This is wonderful. The silence is so powerful and I love how that defines their relationship. And then everything crashes and the talking begins. I love the tattoos and their meanings. The emotions here are so strong. Beautiful job!

And see... I don't hate baby fics... I think Emily's pregnancy works perfectly here and is a wonderful addition to their relationship. ;-)

The pregnancy wasn't even planned by me. I planned to have them marry in their silence and never say anything until her accident forced the issue, but the pregnancy thing kind of just happened. I agree it fits here much better than for HTFL-Em-and-Spence (for now, heh).

You have no idea how long I debated about what tattoos Reid had and where they were. OMG the decisions!
