Today I walked/jogged for 6 miles. Just so we're clear, the furthest that I had ever walked at one time before today, just walked, was 3.8 miles

OMG!! I just discovered the Couch25K thing the other night, in a very round about way, thru looking at bad for you foods and then the "eat this, not that" website. so i can't run worth a crap - i've never had any aptitude for running, but i tried week one/day one today and managed to survive. it was a huge first step for me. i'm going to try to follow along and see if i can do it. i'm not expecting miracles, but any amound of exercise is better than what i was getting 3 weeks ago.
Native Americans used to cover an amazing amount of ground using that technique--especially runners carrying messages and warriors on the warpath. You can still find their old trails, they resemble deer paths.
