Last night I had this dream where every time I came in to work, I had to battle a pack of ninjas. I loved Tom's of Maine's fennel-flavored toothpaste. Alas, they haven't made it in years.

I live near Tom's of Maine! Every year they go to the elementary school classrooms and teach the kids how to make their toothpaste. Maybe they could teach you to make the non-SLS one? Well, if you went back to 3rd grade for a day!

Trader Joe's recently had a fennel flavored TJ brand. That was my fave Tom's flavor as well.

Retired dental hygienist here, so thought I'd jump in with my two cents about the oral hygiene stuff. Deep six the natural bristle toothbrush, or use it for cleaning the grout in your bathroom. Those raggedy, sharp-edged bristles are much too coarse-- terrible for tooth enamel and gum tissue too . Oral B makes a good product, but their soft brushes are very soft, and are functionally worn out way before the little blue indicator bars say so-- buy several at a time, and do your best to replace your brush about every 4-6 weeks, or sooner, if any bristles start to stick out before then.

Just a request, too-- can you alert us here, when it's time to go vote for Zero again? I want to keep voting as your story goes up the ladder, but I can never figure out when one phase of the voting ends and the next begins. Thanks.

Colgate bought out Tom's in 2006. I know they haven't changed all their products as a result, but I'm certain this did lead to some reformulation of some of them.
