I have made my tutees write out the photosynthesis equation and the respiration equation underneath each other and then tell me how they are related. They look at me with WTF faces for a while, and then the light bulb goes on.

The photosynthesis/respiration unit is my favorite one to teach, because it's so complex at first, but if you break it down properly, it becomes easy to understand. SO few people are able to break it down properly, though...

My boyfriend is a member of ACS. Now I really want to make him get an account just so he can get a pretty credit card. The credit union has good benefits, I suppose?
